Oilers sign Viktor Arvidsson to two-year contract

The Edmonton Oilers have agreed to a two-year deal with forward Viktor Arvidsson worth $4 million per season, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman confirms.

Arvidsson only suited up in 18 games last season with the Los Angeles Kings but had six goals and 15 points. He did return for the Stanley Cup Playoffs where he contributed three assists in five games.

In 546 career NHL regular games with the Kings and Nashville Predators, Arvidsson has 179 goals and 362 points. In 72 career playoff games, the 31-year-old has 13 goals and 37 points.

When healthy, Arvidsson is capable of scoring 20-plus goals and has scored 30 goals twice in his career.
