Patrick Marleau ties Gordie Howe’s all-time NHL games played record

Patrick Marleau joined Ron MacLean and Kelly Hrudey to talk about tying Gordie Howe’s record for NHL games played, and looks back at his favourite memories of the legendary Howe.

Patrick Marleau has tied Gordie Howe atop the NHL’s all-time games played list with his 1,767th career appearance.

Of those 1,767 games, Marleau has made 1,595 appearances with the San Jose Sharks, 164 with the Toronto Maple Leafs and an additional eight as a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

This is Marleau’s 21st season with the Sharks, having spent two years with the Maple Leafs from 2017-2019 before returning to San Jose last campaign.

He was eventually traded to the Penguins in February 2020 before signing a one-year contract with the Bay Area club.

Marleau, 41, can break the all-time games played record when the Sharks face the Vegas Golden Knights on Monday.
