Penguins sign forward Danton Heinen to one-year, $1.1M contract

The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed forward Danton Heinen to a one-year deal worth $1.1 million, the team announced Thursday.

Heinen spent last season playing for the Anaheim Ducks, where he appeared in 43 games, scoring seven times and adding seven assists.

The 26-year-old has played parts of five seasons in the NHL, split between the Boston Bruins and the Ducks.

A native of Langley, B.C., Heinen’s best season came in 2017-18, when he scored a career-high 47 points for the Bruins.
