Nashville Predators forward Michael McCarron has been suspended two games for an illegal check to the head of Tampa Bay Lightning forward Yanni Gourde.

The incident occurred late in the third period of Satuday’s game between the Predators and Lightning. McCarron cut across centre ice then caught Gourde with a high hit.

McCarron was initially given a two-minute penalty before being assessed a match penalty and ejected from the game after review.
