Predators signing Mattias Ekholm to four-year, $25M extension

The Nashville Predators are signing veteran defenceman Mattias Ekholm to a four-year contract extension worth a total of $25 million, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman. The deal carries an average annual value of $6.25 million.

Ekholm, 31, is on the final year of a six-year, $22.5-million deal entering the 2021-22 season. He’s played his entire 11-year career in Nashville and produced 23 points in 48 games for the Predators last season.
