The Nashville Predators have traded forward Luke Kunin to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for John Leonard and a third-round pick in 2023.
Kunin, who overcame being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes while in the Grade 6 to eventually be the 15th-overall pick in the 2016 NHL Draft, became a regular fixture in the NHL during the 2019-20 season. That year, in 65 games played with Minnesota, he established career-highs with 15 goals and 16 assists.
Most recently, he skated in all 82 games for the Predators in 2021-22 — the first time so far he was able to after injuries slowed the start of his career — and scored 13 goals while adding nine assists.
