Buffalo Sabres goalie Eric Comrie is expected to be out for “multiple weeks” with a lower-body injury, general manager Kevyn Adams told reporters on Friday.
Comrie exited Wednesday’s game against the Ottawa Senators shortly after a collision in the second period. Mathieu Joseph collided with Comrie when Sabres defenceman Rasmus Dahlin hit Joseph as the forward was driving to the net.
Comrie is 4-7 with a 3.62 goals-against average and .887 save percentage for the Sabres this season.
The former Winnipeg Jet signed a two-year, $3.6-million contract with the Sabres this summer.
Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and Craig Anderson are expected to handle netminding duties until Comrie returns.
The Sabres, who have lost seven in a row, are in Toronto to face the Maple Leafs on Saturday.
