Senators claim Victor Mete off waivers from Canadiens

The Ottawa Senators claimed defenceman Victor Mete off waivers from the Montreal Canadiens on Monday.

Mete missed a number of games as a healthy scratch for Montreal this season. He has three assists and a plus-3 rating in 14 games in 2020-21.

The 22-year-old was selected by Montreal in the fourth round of the 2016 draft. He has registered four goals and 30 assists in 185 career NHL games.

Elsewhere on waivers, the Dallas Stars claimed veteran defenceman Sami Vatanen from the New Jersey Devils.
