Ottawa Senators forward Mathieu Joseph is expected to miss two weeks with a lower-body injury, coach D.J. Smith told reporters on Friday.

Joseph was hurt in Thursday’s 4-3 overtime loss against the Dallas Stars.

The native of Laval, Que., has two goals and seven assists in 25 games this season.

The Senators acquired Joseph from the Tampa Bay Lightning in a trade for Nick Paul prior to last season’s trade deadline.

Joseph signed a four-year, $11.8-million contract with the Senators in the off-season.
