The Ottawa Senators have signed goaltender Joey Daccord to a three-year contract, the team announced Saturday.

The deal carries an annual value of $700,000 in the NHL and $175,000 at the AHL level in the first year, $750,000 in the NHL and $300,000 in the AHL in the second and $800,000 in the NHL in the final and sole one-way year of the agreement.

The 24-year-old from North Andover, Mass., spent the majority of the 2019-20 season with the team’s AHL affiliate, the Belleville Senators, recording a 2.60 goals-against average, .915 save percentage and one shutout across 24 games. The six-foot-two, 197-pound netminder also put up a 2.85 GAA, .901 SV% and one shutout in 12 games with the ECHL’s Brampton Beast.

“We’ve been very pleased with Joey’s development,” said Senators general manager Pierre Dorion in a press release.

“He’s a big, athletic goalie and an excellent puck handler who exudes the necessary confidence to compete at the highest level. He’s become a valuable asset within our pool of goaltending prospects.”

Daccord was drafted by the Senators in the seventh round (199th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.
