Ottawa Senators defenceman Artem Zub will sit out Saturday’s game against the San Jose Sharks after taking a puck to the face in New York on Friday.

Senators coach D.J. Smith made the announcement before the game, which starts at 7 p.m. ET and can be seen on Sportsnet ONE.

Also on the Senators blueline, Hamonic, who was hit in the throat by a puck Friday night, is a game-time decision. Jacob Larsson, called up from AHL Belleville, will suit up if Hamonic is unable to play after giving it a shot during warmup.

The game will feature the return of former Senators superstar defenceman Erik Karlsson, who is enjoying a career resurgence this season with the Sharks.
