The San Jose Sharks have claimed forward Mikey Eyssimont off waivers from the Winnipeg Jets, the team announced Friday.

The 26-year-old has played 19 games for the Jets this season, scoring a goal and notching four assists. In addition, Eyssimont appeared in nine AHL games with the Manitoba Moose, with two goals and seven assists.

“We’re excited to add Mikey to our group,” said Sharks general manager Mike Grier. “He’s a competitive player and a high-character person.”

Eyssimont was selected in the fifth round by the Los Angeles Kings at the 2016 NHL Draft.
