The San Jose Sharks announced that defenceman Erik Karlsson underwent successful forearm surgery on Monday.

The procedure was set to repair a muscle tear in the Swede’s left forearm. Sharks medical staff will re-evaluate Karlsson’s injury in mid-March.
In his fourth season with San Jose, the 31-year-old picked up eight goals and 18 assists in 33 games.
