The Vancouver Canucks made headlines across the hockey world on Monday when they traded captain Bo Horvat to the New York Islanders in exchange for forward Anthony Beauvillier, prospect Aatu Raty and a conditional first-round pick in 2023.

Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin will address the media for the first time since the trade was announced on Monday evening from the Rogers Arena media room.

Weeks of trade speculation had surrounded the Vancouver captain prior to the move, especially given the Canucks struggles this season. The same can’t be said about Horvat, however, as he is in the middle of a career-best season, with 31 goals and 24 assists through 49 games.

Coming back the Canucks way is Beauvillier, who has nine goals and 11 assists in 49 games this season, while Raty has two goals in 12 games.

Allvin will speak to the media Monday and the full availability can be seen right here on Sportsnet.ca, starting at about 8:30 p.m. ET / 5:30 p.m. PT, through the video player atop this page.
