Canada’s Christine de Bruin and Kristen Bujnowski finished fifth in the two-woman bobsled on Saturday at the Beijing Olympics.
De Bruin’s sled finished .89 seconds behind bronze medallist Elana Meyers Taylor of the United States in the four-run event.
The Canadian was fourth entering Day 2.
Meyers Taylor, who has won five career Olympic medals, will be the American flag-bearer at the Closing Ceremony on Sunday after being unable to hold the flag at the Opening Ceremony because she was in COVID-19 isolation.
Germany’s Laura Nolte and Mariama Jamanka finished first and second, respectively.
De Bruin won a bronze medal in the monobob earlier in the Games.
Canada’s Cynthia Appiah and Dawn Richardson Wilson walked away from a scary crash in the third of fourth runs and finished eighth.
Canada’s Melissa Lotholz and Sara Villani placed 12th.
Former Team Canada star Kailie Humphries, now competing for the United States, finished seventh in the two-woman after capturing gold in the monobob.
