A Canadian placed in the top-10 of the most prestigious annual marathon on Monday.
Rory Linkletter finished sixth at the Boston Marathon, crossing the finish line in two hours, seven minutes, two seconds.
Linkletter, 28, beat his personal best of 2:08:01, which he set last February, after out-kicking American Clayton Young in a race to the finish.
The Calgary native competed at his first Olympics in Paris last summer, placing 47th in 2:13:09.
Kenya's John Korir ran away with victory in Boston, cruising through the final metres of the 42.2-kilometre race and clocking a time of 2:04:45. His older brother, Wesley Korir, won the race in 2012, making them the first set of brothers ever to each claim the Boston Marathon title.
Tanzania's Alphonce Simbu (02:05:04) beat Kenya's Cybrian Kotut by hundredths of a second in a photo finish for second place.
Conner Mantz was the top American, crossing fourth in 2:05:08.
