Canada's Sarah Mitton is back in a podium position.
Mitton, from Brooklyn, N.S., placed third in the shot put in Friday's Diamond League meet in Monaco. Medals are not awarded at the season-long circuit.
Mitton, 29, had a top throw of 20 metres.
Jessica Schilder of the Netherlands took top spot on the final attempt of the competition with a throw of 20.39 metres. American Chase Jackson was second at 20.06 metres.
Jackson was first, Mitton was second and Schilder was fifth last week at the Diamond League's Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Ore.
Mitton has won gold at the past two world indoor championships, beating out runner-up Schilder at this year's event in China. The Canadian took silver at the last world outdoor championships in 2023.
Jackson is the two-time reigning world outdoor champion.
However, none of Schilder, Jackson and Mitton reached the podium at last year's Olympics in Paris.
Meanwhile, Marco Arop placed fifth in what was essentially a rematch of the Olympic 800 metres, when the Canadian lost out on gold by one one-hundredth of a second.
This time, the Edmonton runner started the race from the back of the pack, but could not close the gap enough over the final lap.
He still recorded a season-best time of one minutes 42.73 seconds.
Olympic champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi of Kenya took top spot again with a meeting-record and world-leading time of 1:41.44.
American Josh Hoey placed second with a personal-best time of 1:42.01 and Algeria's Djamel Sedjati, the Olympic bronze medallist, was third at 1:42.20.
All eight athletes from the Olympic final competed in the 12-man race.
