Camryn Rogers keeps pushing the boundaries of her sport.
The Canadian hammer throw star set a Diamond League and Canadian record to win the women's event at the Prefontaine Classic on Saturday in Eugene, Ore.
Rogers, the reigning Olympic gold medallist, notched a throw of 78.88 metres on her fourth of six attempts.
The previous Canadian record, set by the native of Richmond, B.C. in 2023, was 78.62 metres. Rogers also held the previous Diamond League record of 77.76 from last year's Prefontaine Classic.
American Brooke Andersen, the 2022 world champion, was second on Saturday at 76.95 metres.
Meanwhile, Canada's Ethan Katzberg settled for silver in the men's hammer throw event, the first competition he did not win out of six this season.
The native of Nanaimo, B.C., had a throw of 81.73 metres. American Rudy Winkler won with 83.16 metres.
Katzberg also won gold at last year's Olympics.
Canada won another Prefontaine silver medal in women's shot put.
Sarah Mitton of Brooklyn, N.S. had a distance of 20.39 metres. American Chase Jackson, a two-time world champion, took gold at 20.94 metres.
