A disappointing season for the Canadian men's alpine ski team continued Saturday in the first medal event of the Winter Olympics.
The four Canadians in the field missed the podium in the men's downhill at Milano Cortino 2026.
Toronto's James Crawford, a bronze medallist at Beijing 2022 in the combined and a world champion in the super-G in 2023, led Canada with a ninth-place finish.
Cameron Alexander of North Vancouver, B.C. was 14th, Jeffrey Read of Canmore, Alta. was 25th and Brodie Seger of North Vancouver was 28th.
The Canadian men haven't reached the podium on the World Cup circuit this year.
