Cycling Canada has applied the brakes to its elite women's track pursuit team.
Cycling Canada will not enter a women's pursuit team at track cycling's world championship in October, even though Canada has qualified for the event, and the team's status for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles is in doubt.
Cycling Canada will enter a men's pursuit team at the world championship.
Canada is currently ranked ninth in the world in women's pursuit and 10th in men's pursuit.
Cycling Canada's chief executive officer says the men are showing signs they'll be more competitive in the event than the women.
