USA Hockey revealed on Wednesday its Olympic and Paralympic uniforms to be worn by the men’s, women’s and sled hockey teams in Milano Cortina 2026.
The Nike-designed sweaters were inspired by those worn by Team USA at the 1960 Olympics, the first American group to win Olympic gold. Both the white and royal blue feature diagonal “USA” lettering and a gold-accented USA Hockey crest.
The phrase “land of the free, home of the brave” is etched on the inside collar and is meant to acknowledge that wearing the uniform represents something greater than themselves, USA Hockey said in a press release Wednesday.
The jersey unveiling comes ahead of the women’s tournament, set to begin on Feb. 5, where the silver medallists from 2022 will look to finish at the top of the podium for the third time in their history. In preparation for the competition, Team USA and Team Canada recently began their rivalry series, with the Americans taking the first two games. They meet for Games 3 and 4 on Dec. 10 and 13.
Meanwhile, the men begin their tournament on Feb. 11, highlighted by the return of NHL players to the Olympics after a 12-year absence. The U.S. last reached medal status in 2010, after losing the final to Canada on Sidney Crosby's overtime winner.
Auston Matthews, Jack Eichel, Quinn Hughes, Charlie McAvoy, and the Tkachuk brothers, Brady and Matthew, were among the first six players named to the roster.
