Men’s 50-km race walk – Tim Berrett of Edmonton placed 38th with a time of four hours, eight minutes, 18 seconds.
Men’s 4×100 relay – Canada (Hank Palmer, Montreal; Anson Henry, Pickering, Ont.; Jared Connaughton, Charlottetown; and Pierre Browne, Toronto), finished sixth with a time of 38.66.
Men’s decathlon – Massimo Bertocchi, Tottenham, Ont., finished 19th overall with a combined score of 7,714.
Women’s long jump – Tabia Charles, Pickering, Ont., finished 10th in the final with a jump of 6.47 metres.
Women’s 5,000 – Megan Metcalfe, Edmonton, finished 15th in the final with a time of 17:06:82.
CANOE/KAYAK
Men’s K-1 1,000 – Adam van Koeverden, Oakville, Ont., finished eighth in the final with a time of three minutes 31.793 seconds.
Men’s C-1 1,000 – Thomas Hall, Pointe-Claire, Que., won the bronze medal with a time of 3:53.653.
Men’s C-2 1,000 – Canada (Andrew Russell, Dartmouth, N.S. and Gabriel Beauchesne-Sevigny, Trois-Rivieres, Que.), finished sixth in the final with a time of 3:41.165.
Men’s K-4 500 – Canada (Brady Reardon, Burlington, Ont.; Angus Mortimer, Ottawa; Chris Pellini, Mississauga, Ont.; Rhys Hill, Ottawa), finished ninth in the final with a time of 3:01.630.
CYCLING (BMX)
Women’s final – Sammy Cools, Airdrie, Alta., did not finish the race, placing seventh.
DIVING
Men’s 10-metre platform – Riley McCormick, Victoria, placed 14th in qualifying and advanced to the final with a combined score of 425.95. Reuben Ross, Butte, Sask., placed 15th and also qualified (425.60).
MODERN PENTATHLON
Women – Monica Pinette, Langley, B.C., finished 27th with a total score of 5,192. Kara Grant, Stratford, P.E.I, was 31st (4,976).

Men’s 80 kg – Sebastien Michaud of Quebec City lost 0-0 to Rashad Ahmadov of Azerbaijan in the quarter-finals.
Women’s 67 kg – Karine Sergerie, Ste-Catherine, Que., won the silver medal, losing 2-1 to Kyungseon Hwang of South Korea in the final.
WATER POLO
Men – Justin Boyd, Beaconsfield, Que., and Jean Sayegh, Quebec City, scored two goals each as Canada defeated China 8-7 to capture 11th place.
