RIO DE JANEIRO — What Canada Did on the weekend at the Rio Paralympic Summer Games (distances in metres):

SUNDAY

WHEELCHAIR RUGBY

Men — Canada lost 52-50 to Japan in the bronze medal game.

Also — Chef de Mission Chantal Petitclerc named triple gold-medallist swimmer Aurelie Rivard, St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que. (50m-, 100m- and 400m-freestyle S10), to carry the Canadian flag during Sunday’s closing ceremony.

SATURDAY

ATHLETICS

Women’s T52 100 — Michelle Stilwell, Parksville, B.C., won the gold medal in a Games-record 19.42 seconds. It was her second gold of the competition.

Men’s 4×400 relay — Canada (Brent Lakatos, Dorval, Que.; Curtis Thom, Mississauga, Ont.; Tristan Smyth, Surrey, B.C. and Alexandre Dupont, St-Remi, Que.), won the bronze medal in 3:08.00.

Women’s T54 800 — Diane Roy, Sherbrooke, Que., was seventh in the final in 1:51.51.

Women’s T53 800 — Ilana Dupont, Saskatoon, was 12th in her heat and did not advance to the final.

Women’s T44 100 — Marissa Papaconstantinou, Toronto, was ninth in her heat and did not advance to the final.

Women’s F38 discus — Renee Foessel, Mississauga, Ont., was fourth in the final with a throw of 30.70 metres. Jennifer Brown, Calgary, was seventh with 27.95.

CYCLING (ROAD)

Women’s C4-5 road race — Marie-Claude Molnar, Lemoyne, Que., was 16th in the final in 2:37.49. Nicole Clermont, St-Denis-de-Brompton, Que., did not finish.

Men’s B road race — Daniel Chalifour, Ste-Therese, Que., and his guide Jean-Michel Lachance, Quebec City, did not finish the final.

Women’s B road race — Robbi Weldon, Thunder Bay, Ont., and her guide Audrey Lemieux, Alma, Que., were fifth in the final in 2:01.16. Shawna Ryan, Saskatoon, and her guide Joanie Caron, Rimouski, Que., were 12th in 2:11.40.

SAILING

Two-person keelboat (Skud 18) — John McRoberts and Jackie Gay, both Victoria, were third in the 11th and final race and placed second overall for the silver medal.

Three-person keelboat (Sonar) — Paul Tingley, Halifax; Logan Campbell, Saskatoon and Scott Lutes, Montreal, were seventh in the 11th and final race and placed third overall for the bronze medal.

One-person keelboat (2.4mR) — Bruce Millar, Victoria, was 10th in the 11th and final race and finished 10th overall.

SWIMMING

Men’s S13 100 backstroke — Nicolas-Guy Turbide, Quebec City, won the bronze medal in 59.55. Devin Gotell, Antigonish, N.S., was eighth in the final in 1:06.62. Tyler Mrak, West Vancouver, B.C., was 11th in his heat and did not advance.

Women’s SM8 200 individual medley — Abi Tripp, Kingston, Ont., was eighth in the final in 2:55.08. Morgan Bird, Calgary, was 10th in her heat. Sabrina Duchesne, Quebec City, was 14th in her heat. Neither advanced to the final.

Women’s S4 50 freestyle — Tammy Cunnington, Red Deer, Alta., was 11th in her heat and did not advance to the final.

Men’s S5 100 freestyle — Danial Murphy, Bedford, N.S., was 14th in his heat and did not advance to the final.

Men’s S14 200 individual medley — Gord Michie, St. Thomas, Ont., was eighth in the final in 2:18.88.

Men’s 4×100 medley relay (34 points) — Canada (Alec Elliot, Kitchener, Ont.; James Leroux, Repentigny, Que.; Jean-Michel Lavalliere, Quebec City and Zack McAllister, Lethbridge, Alta.), was seventh in the final in 4:29.04.

WHEELCHAIR RUGBY

Men — Canada lost 60-55 to the U.S. in the semifinal and will play Japan for the bronze medal on Sunday.
