Canada’s de Bruin, Bujnowski sit fourth in two-woman bobsled at Olympics

Canada’s Christine de Bruin and Kristen Bujnowski are fourth at the halfway mark of the two-woman bobsled event at the Beijing Olympics.

De Bruin and Bujnowski are 0.42 seconds behind the American sled driven by Elana Meyers Taylor heading into the final two runs starting Saturday at 7 a.m. ET.

German drivers Laura Nolte and Mariama Jamanka are first and second, respectively. Nolte is a half-second up on Jamanka, while Meyers Taylor is .24 seconds behind the second German sled.

Former Team Canada star Kaillie Humphries, now driving for the United States, is fifth.

Canada’s Cynthia Appiah and Dawn Richardson Wilson are seventh, while Melissa Lotholz and Sara Villani are 15th.

De Bruin took bronze behind gold medallist Humphries and Meyers Taylor in the debut of monobob earlier this week.
