Canadian Marianne St-Gelais was disqualified from the first heat of the 500-metre short track speed skating event after a collision to start the race.
St-Gelais, a silver medallist in the 500 metres in Vancouver, failed to win any individual medals in Sochi four years ago.
Fellow Canadian Kim Boutin advanced to the semifinals.
