The Invictus Games kick off on Saturday in Toronto.
By now, you probably already know it’s the brainchild of Prince Harry and features injured, ill, and wounded servicemen and women competing in a slate of events.
You also probably figured it has a pretty classic lineup among the 12 events the 520 athletes will take part in over the course of the eight days, like athletics, archery, cycling and golf.
And then there’s the Jaguar Land Rover Driving Challenge.
On Saturday, the same day as the opening ceremony, teams from each of the 17 competing nations will tear around in Land Rovers and Jags. It’s happening in Toronto’s Distillery District, and it’s free of charge to watch.
There are two different courses: The Jaguar course, according to the Games’ website, is all about speed and precision. The Land Rover course is full of obstacles.
The goal here is speed, but also precision – there’ll be points deducted for any fouls. In other words, don’t take out an obstacle with your Land Rover.
This will be the first set of medals awarded at the Invictus Games, and the event happens on Saturday between 11 a.m.–3: 30 p.m. ET in the Distillery District, at 373 Front St. East.
Other free events include archery, golf, cycling and wheelchair tennis, While events like wheelchair basketball and wheelchair rugby cost $25 a pop. Click here for a full list of events and ticket prices.
