Nurse helps lead Canada’s rally over Serbia in women’s basketball

Kia Nurse had a game-high 25 points to help Canada rally past Serbia in a 71-67 win.

Canada showed some mettle in the preliminary round of women’s basketball at the Rio Olympics on Monday afternoon.

Sparked by a 26-point fourth quarter, the Canadians rallied back from an 18-point second-half deficit to beat Serbia 71-67.

Kia Nurse led Canada with 25 points while Miah-Marie Langlois hit a key three-point shot in the final minute to seal the victory.

Canada is now 2-0 in the preliminary round after defeating China 90-68 and takes on Senegal in their next match-up on Wednesday.
