The 2010 Vancouver Olympics won’t be short of expert analysis with a stable of 31 Olympians as part of 140 broadcasters slated to cover the Winter Games.
Jamie Salé, David Pelletier, Catriona Le May Doan, Gaétan Boucher, Jean-Luc Brassard, Elizabeth Manley, Beckie Scott and Karen Percy Lowe are just a few of the Olympic luminaries who will add their insights to the unprecedented coverage in English. Boucher, Brassard, Danièle Sauvageau, Mélanie Turgeon, Marie-France Dubreuil and Patrice Lauzon will headline the French coverage.
“The advantage of the Consortium is the diverse and broad scope of talent from various assets, giving us expertise and star power in all areas – sports, news, entertainment and music,” said Keith Pelley, President, Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium. “The breadth and depth of high-calibre talent available to the Consortium is unparalleled.”
The Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium of CTV and Rogers Media provides perhaps the greatest and most diverse talent pool ever for an Olympic broadcast team, with broadcasts to span over 11 official television networks and 10 official radio stations.
“We have assembled the strongest and most knowledgeable Olympic French-language broadcast team, the majority of whom already have an established connection with sports fans, whether it be as former athletes, Olympians or proven sportscasters,” said Gerry Frappier, French Chef de Mission, Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium.
Sportsnet’s own Don Taylor, Daren Millard, Martine Gaillard, Brad Fay, Nick Kypreos and Evanka Osmak are but a few of the broadcasters who will contribute their talents to the 2010 Olympic coverage.
