Corey Conners is one of just 14 golfers who made the cut at all four majors in 2026 — in fact, he's made 13 straight cuts at majors — and he saved his best for last at The Open Championship.
Conners fired a 3-under 67 on Sunday at Royal Birkdale, making three birdies on his back nine, and finished tied for 14th.
It was his best major result this season.
While he had a pair of pedestrian results to open major season at The Masters and the PGA Championship, Conners turned it on at the U.S. Open — where he was firmly in the mix on the weekend — and then leaned on a sound Sunday to notch another solid major result at Birkdale.
Conners will be the first to say that his season has been an odd one — both on the results ledger and with his statistical body of work — but he’s been flashing some usual brilliance through the summertime. He had his first top-10 of the year at the Travelers Championship after his tidy run at the U.S. Open.

He was off for a couple of weeks before heading across the pond for the Genesis Scottish Open and The Open.
Conners struggled again to open his fourth round, as he sat 1 over for his first seven holes. He birdied the par-4 8th to get it back to level par before making back-to-back birdies on Nos. 10 and 11. Conners added one more circle on the scorecard on the par-5 17th and moved up 24 spots on the leaderboard in his final round. Conners’ 3-under 67 was tied for the third-lowest round of the day.
“Just played a little bit tidier. (Saturday) I played pretty well. The putter kind of left me in the middle of the round. Had some three-putts and wasn't able to get the ball up-and-down. A little bit tidier today. I was able to convert a few chances and make the saves when I needed to,” Conners said.
The Canadian ended up six shots back of New Zealand's Ryan Fox, who won his first career major after making four birdies in his final six holes — including a walk-off birdie for the win on the final hole of the championship.
Nick Taylor, the only other Canadian in the field alongside Conners, shot a 1-over 71 Sunday and finished tied for 59th.
Conners said he’ll tee it up at the 3M Open next week on the PGA Tour while Taylor said he will play the Rocket Mortgage Classic in two weeks.
