Pre-qualifiers for PGA Tour events generally don't attract much attention, but it will be a different story Thursday in Florida.
Charlie Woods, Tiger Woods' 15-year-old son, will tee it up in Hobe Sound, Fla. in one of four pre-qualifiers for next week's Cognizant Classic in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
About 25 players from the pre-qualifying sites will advance to a Monday qualifier next week, where four spots will be awarded into the PGA Tour event in Charlie Woods' hometown.
Woods' threesome Thursday will include another son of a PGA Tour winner — Olin Browne Jr., whose dad has won three times on tour, 79 fewer titles than Tiger.
Charlie Woods has played in the past four editions of the PNC Championship with his dad. They finished second in 2021.
Tiger's first PGA tournament came when he was 16. He missed the cut at the 1992 Los Angeles Open.
