Cameron Smith is staying put.
The Australian golfer won't jump back to the PGA Tour as part of its Returning Member Program, he told reporters including Evin Priest of Golf Digest on Tuesday.
Smith, who plays on LIV after defecting in 2022 just four weeks following his lone major victory at the Open Championship, was given the option to return to the PGA Tour under penalty until Feb. 2.
However, he said he is not interested.
"I made a decision to come here and I stand by it," Smith said.
Brooks Koepka, another ex-PGA Tour player who went to LIV, took that deal on Monday, becoming the biggest star to return from the Saudi-backed league.
Smith, the 32-year-old Australian, enjoyed a breakout season in 2022, winning both The Players Championship and The Open before leaving the PGA Tour.
He has not enjoyed the same success — at least in major championships — ever since, including missing all four cuts in 2025.
Smith has won three times on LIV, with his most recent coming in August 2023.
Brian Rolapp, the CEO of PGA Tour Enterprises, outlined the agreement with Koepka and details of the Returning Member Program in a memo to players Monday. A copy of the memo was obtained by The Associated Press.
Rolapp made clear, however, this was a one-time program and not a precedent.
It applies only to players who have won majors or The Players Championship from 2022 through 2025, meaning Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm and Smith would be the only LIV players who could return. They have three weeks to decide.
Koepka will have to earn his way into $20 million signature events. He would be added to the field to not take a spot from another tour player.
The board, which has a majority of players led by Tiger Woods, approved the program.
