The first batch of players set to play at this year's Presidents Cup is locked in.
Scottie Scheffler led six competitors who automatically qualified for the U.S. team following the conclusion of the BMW Championship on Sunday.
Also set to play the biannual event for the Americans are Cameron Young, Wyndham Clark, Sam Burns, Collin Morikawa and Russell Henley.
The final six members of the team will be chosen by captain Brandt Snedeker ahead of the tournament, which is set to run Sept. 24-27 at Medinah Country Club near Chicago.
Just missing out from the American side were Chris Gotterup, Ben Griffin and Xander Schauffele, who finished seventh through ninth, respectively, in the points standings.
The six auto-qualifiers for the International Team — made up of players outside the U.S. and Europe — will be locked after this week's Tour Championship.
However, the players are already virtually set, with no one outside the current top six qualified for the Tour Championship.
Korea's Si Woo Kim and Tom Kim, Australia's Min Woo Lee and Adam Scott, New Zealand's Ryan Fox and Japan's Hideki Matsuyama are all assured of representing the international side, which has not won since 1998.
Canada's Corey Conners, who will finish seventh on the points list, and Nick Taylor, at 13th, will require picks from captain Geoff Ogilvy to suit up.
