Everton has suffered yet another injury blow.
Jack Grealish has suffered a foot injury and is set to be sidelined for several months, the club announced on Tuesday.
The injury is believed to have occurred during Everton’s 1-0 win against the England international’s former club, Aston Villa, on Sunday, a game in which Grealish played the full 90 minutes.
The 30-year-old will see a specialist in the coming days to assess the problem further, per the club's statement.
Grealish began his career with Villa after graduating from its academy.
After eight years and 185 appearances with his boyhood club, he then moved to Manchester City, where he helped the Citizens win the treble in 2023. He joined Everton on loan last summer after falling out of favour with Man City head coach Pep Guardiola.
This season, Grealish has made 20 league appearances, scoring two goals and recording six assists.
The injury comes at a difficult time for the Merseyside club that is also without Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (thigh), Charly Alcaraz (undisclosed), Tim Iroegbunam (groin), and Jarrad Branthwaite (thigh).
