The Minnesota Frost are shoring up their blue line ahead of a playoff push.
The Frost dealt forward Denisa Krizova to the New York Sirens in exchange for defender Jincy Roese, the teams announced on Monday.
Roese, a 28-year-old American, has six assists in 22 games this season for the Sirens. She spent her first two years in the PWHL in Ottawa, where she put up three goals and 16 assists over 51 contests.
“Jincy has proven to be a powerful defender through her tenure in the league and has a skillset we’re enthusiastic to add to our blue line,” said Frost general manager Melissa Caruso in the league's news release.
Krizova owns one goal and four assists in 23 games for the Frost this season. The 31-year-old Czech has played her entire PWHL career with Minnesota, helping the team win each of the first two Walter Cups.
"Adding Krizova allows us to strengthen our offensive group at an important time," said Sirens general manager Pascal Daoust in the same news release. "She brings experience, composure, and leadership, along with a style of play that fits well with the identity we’re building with the Sirens.”
The Frost (11-3-3-6) sit third in the PWHL with 42 points, while the Sirens (8-0-3-12) are outside of the playoff picture in sixth place with 27 points.
Each team has seven games remaining in the regular season.
The PWHL trade deadline is set for 5 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. PT.
