It appears safe to say there's no love lost between the Minnesota Frost and Toronto Sceptres.
Following Minnesota's 2-1 overtime win over Toronto on Sunday, the PWHL dished out a pair of punishments for incidents during that game.
The league announced on Tuesday that it had suspended Frost forward Britta Curl-Salemme for one game and fined Sceptres defender Renata Fast $250 for separate infractions.
Fast was fined for a play that originally went unpenalized. The PWHL's player safety committee determined that she struck opposing player Kendall Coybe Schofield with the shaft of her stick at the 3:23 mark of the first period.
It'll be the first time Fast has been assessed a fine in her PWHL career.
Meanwhile, Curl-Salemme was punished for a high hit on Megan Carter mid-way through the second period. She extended her elbow upward as she delivered the hit and made primary contact with Carter's head.
The play resulted in a minor penalty for elbowing and upon further review the league deemed it an illegal check to the head.
Curl-Salemme has already been given a one-game suspension once before this season for a high-sticking incident in January against the Boston Fleet.
