The PWHL has announced the three finalists for the rookie of the year award.
Montreal Victoire defender Nicole Gosling, New York Sirens forward Casey O'Brien and Boston Fleet defender Haley Winn have made the shortlist for the honour, the league announced Tuesday.
Gosling just won the Walter Cup with the Victoire. In 30 regular-season games for the first-place Montreal, Gosling had 19 points (three goals, 16 assists) and led the team's defenders in scoring, while finishing second in rookie scoring. In the playoffs, she added one goal and two assists.
O'Brien is the lone forward in the final three, leading all rookies with 22 points (seven goals, 15 assists) in 28 games. She was second in scoring on the Sirens, topped only by 2025 rookie of the year Sarah Fillier. O'Brien is the only rookie to have scored a hat trick this season.
Winn, who was the second-overall pick at the 2025 draft, tied with her college teammate Gosling for second in scoring amongst rookies, with 19 points (five goals, 14 assists) in 30 games. The Rochester, N.Y., native won an Olympic gold medal at the 2026 Winter Games.
The winner will be announced at the PWHL award ceremony on June 16.
