Hockey Canada has invited 48 players to try out for the women's world championship team.
An October camp in Quebec City will determine the 25 who will wear the Maple Leaf at the world championship Nov. 6-16 in Herning and Esbjerg, Denmark.
The world championship has been moved to November from its usual April time slot because of the Professional Women's Hockey League that runs from November to May.
The United States beat Canada in overtime in both the 2025 world championship final and in February's Olympic final.
Of the 48 players invited to selection camp, 19 helped Canada to its most recent world title in 2024.
Nine players will attend their first camp with the national women's team.
