There's a new captain in Boston.
Fleet defender Megan Keller was anointed as the Boston Fleet's new leader, the team announced on social media.
The Farmington, Mich., native played college hockey at Boston College, and has only played for the Fleet in her PWHL career.
Keller, 29, put up nine goals and 19 assists in her first two seasons with the Fleet.
"She's what Boston hockey is all about," said general manager Danielle Marmer in an announcement video. "She plays a relentless style of hockey."
Former Fleet captain Hilary Knight signed with the Seattle Torrent in the off-season, one of two PWHL expansion franchises beginning play in 2025, leaving the captaincy vacant.
The Fleet are set to open their season on Nov. 23, hosting the Montreal Victoire.
