Now that the Minnesota Frost have been crowned Walter Cup champions for the second time in as many years and the expansion draft is complete, PWHL free agency is officially underway.

Sceptres signs Clair DeGeorge to one-year deal
Toronto has decided to bring a Walter Cup Champion into the fold this free-agency.
The Toronto Sceptres announced Monday that they have signed forward Clair DeGeorge to a one-year contract for the 2025-26 season.
The 26-year-old played in the first two seasons of the PWHL with two teams. In the 2023 PWHL Draft DeGeorge was selected 36th overall by the Minnesota Frost. The forward played in all 10 playoff games that season and recorded a Walter Cup win her first year.
The left-shot winger was traded to the Montreal Victoire for the recent 2024-25 season where she registered two assists in 26 regular season games.
"We are excited to welcome Clair to our organization," general manager Gina Kingsbury said in a press release. "Clair is a 200-foot centre that is defensively responsible with some offensive upside. She will bring PWHL experience to our lineup including being a Walter Cup Champion."

Butorac and Batherson both re-sign in Minnesota
The Frost are bringing back two Walter Cup champions in defender Mae Batherson and forward Claire Butorac.
Butorac has been with the Frost since their inaugural season and has three goals and six assists in 50 regular season games, along with a goal and two assists in 16 playoff games. The 25-year-old signed a one-year standard player agreement.
Batherson was selected by the Frost in the sixth round of last year's draft and has since contributed three assists in 25 regular season games. The 24-year-old has agreed to a two-year standard player agreement.

Charge sign Bergesen to one-year deal
Emma Bergesen is making history as the first Norwegian player to sign with the PWHL.
The Ottawa Charge announced Saturday that they have signed Bergesen to a one-year contract.
The five-foot-eight defender has a history with Canadian-style hockey. She played five years at Mount Royal University in Calgary. There, she won a U SPORTS National Championship in 2023 and earned back-to-back first-team All-Canadian honours in 2023 and 2024.
The left-shot blueliner has also represented Norway six times in IIHF D1A Women's World Champions, bringing home a gold medal in 2024. Bergesen also received the Gullpucken Award in 2023 to honour her as Norway's player of the year.
"(Emma) is a puck-moving defender with strong offensive instincts," Charge GM Mike Hirshfeld said in a release. "Her hockey sense and her vision are excellent. We truly like her potential."
Bergesen declared for the 2024-25 PWHL Draft, making her eligible for the current signing period.
Norcross returns to Sirens
The New York Sirens have agreed to a one-year contract with Savannah Norcross.
The 25-year-old spent last season with Luleå HF of the SDHL, scoring five goals and 18 points in 13 games.
Norcross played her first year of professional hockey with New York during its inaugural season, registering an assist in 20 games.
“Savannah’s return will make an immediate impact,” Sirens general manager Pascal Daoust said in a release. “On the ice with her speed, consistency, and relentless effort, and off the ice with her commitment to uplifting those around her.”
Norcross played five seasons in the NCAA with Boston College and the University of Minnesota, scoring 38 goals and 77 points in 167 games.
“I'm incredibly excited to be back with the New York Sirens and contribute to an organization with a strong vision and drive,” said Norcross. “Being part of a team where I can make a real impact both on and off the ice is something I truly look forward to. I am especially eager to learn and grow from the experienced leadership group and dedicated coaching/support staff that makes this team so special.”

Fleet sign Kluge
The Boston Fleet have signed forward Laura Kluge to a one-year Standard Player Agreement for the 2025-26 season.
Kluge, a native of Berlin, Germany, recorded two assists in 13 regular season games for the Toronto Sceptres in 2024-25 after signing with the team in February. The 28-year-old also appeared in three playoff games.
“Laura brings an impressive combination of size, speed, and toughness,” said Fleet general manager Danielle Marmer. “She has tremendous potential, and we believe she hasn’t even scratched the surface of what she can accomplish at this level. I’m really excited to see how her game evolves and what she’s capable of bringing to our team.”
PWHL Vancouver signs Gabby Rosenthal to one-year contract
PWHL Vancouver announced Friday that Gabby Rosenthal is headed to B.C.
The 25-year-old agreed to a one-year standard player agreement with one of the PWHL's newest teams.
The two-way centre was selected by the New York Sirens as the fifth overall pick in the 2024 PWHL Draft. Rosenthal recorded a goal and three assists across 29 games, as well as an impressive 54 per cent success rate in the faceoff circle.
"Gabby is one of the best two-way centres in the league and a player we were fortunate too add to our forward depth during the Expansion Draft" Cara Gardner Morey, PWHL Vancouver general manager said in a statement. "On the ice, she is smart and gritty and excels at shutting down opponents."
The forward's playing rights were acquired by Vancouver during the 2025 Expansion Draft as the ninth pick overall.
Charge sign veteran Brooke Hobson to one-year contract
The Ottawa Charge are claiming veteran defender Brooke Hobson from the free-agent market.
General manager Mike Hirshfeld announced Friday that the Chrage have signed Hobson to a one-year contract.
The left-shot defender played all but one game with the New York Sirens the past two seasons, recording nine career points.
"We're adding an experienced, tough defender that fits our style of hockey" Hirshfeld said, "She's been a captain at Northeastern University in her last two NCAA seasons, so she's also going to bring some leadership to our locker room."
Hobson was selected 45th overall in the inaugural PWHL Draft by the Sirens.
Victoire sign Downie-Landry to one-year contract
The Montreal Victoire announced on Friday that forward Jade Downie-Landry will be coming home.
The Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que. native played two seasons with the New York Sirens, 54 games overall. She recorded 12 goals and seven assists, logging 19 total career points.
The five-foot-nine forward was also an accomplished USPORTS athlete with 41 goals and 58 assists for 99 points in 89 games.
"It's a dream come true to represent my hometown" Downie-Landry said in an announcement. "There's nothing more special than putting on a Victoire jersey and playing for a city and fans that means so much to me."
Frost sign Morin to two-year contract
The Minnesota Frost have dipped into the free agent market, signing defender Sidney Morin to a two-year contract on Friday.
Morin is the first non-returning player to sign with the two-time Walter Cup champions this off-season.
The 30-year-old was drafted by Minnesota in 2024 but was released and signed with Boston. Morin recorded 12 points (four goals, eight assists) in 54 games with Boston over the past two seasons.
Fleet sign Boyd, MacKinnon and Levy to one-year deals
The Boston Fleet made a trio of signings Friday, adding defenders Zoe Boyd and Rylind MacKinnon plus goaltender Abbey Levy.
All three players signed one-year contracts.
Boyd has spent the past two seasons with the Ottawa Charge, recording six assists in 39 career games with the club. The 24-year-old from Caledon East, Ont., played five seasons at Quinnipiac University and was co-captain of the team during the 2022-23 season.
MacKinnon made the Toronto Sceptres lineup this past season after a training camp invite and had two assists in 22 games. The 25-year-old from Cranbrook, B.C., played five seasons at the University of British Columbia and holds the record for most points scored by a defender in the program's history with 81.
Levy appeared in 10 games with the New York Sirens over the past two seasons. The 25-year-old from Congers, N.Y., recorded her first career win on Feb. 21, 2024, against Montreal.
Victoire sign Flaherty to one-year contract
The Montreal Victoire signed Maggie Fluharty to a one-year contract Friday.
The 25-year-old defender had one goal and assist in 22 games last season, and is a two-time Walter Cup winner.
"Maggie brings a steady presence on the back end. She's a tough defender to play against, defends well, and is confident with the puck on her stick. Her offensive game will continue to grow, and she has great upside as a two-way defender in the PWHL," said Victoire general manager Daniele Sauvageau in a press release.
Seattle signs Grant-Mentis to two-year deal
PWHL Seattle continues to add to its inaugural roster.
The team signed forward Mikyla Grant-Mentis to a two-year contract Friday.
The 26-year-old from Brampton, Ont., had eight points (three goals, five assists) in 30 games with the Montreal Victoire this past season.
“Mikyla is a skilled forward who brings a dynamic element to our offence,” PWHL Seattle GM Meghan Turner said in a release. “She has a great ability to find open space in the offensive zone and pushes the pace through the neutral zone to create chances off the rush. We’re excited to add her vision and creativity to our group in Seattle.”

Victoire extend Dubois with one-year contract
The Montreal Victoire have extended Catherine Dubois on a one-year contract the team announced Thursday.
The 29-year-old was third highest on the Victoire in scoring and started the season on a three game scoring streak. She's also known for ending the league's longest game in the fourth overtime.
“Catherine plays an important role within our group, making an impact both with her on-ice performance and the relationships she builds with her teammates. She's taken major steps forward in her game over the last two seasons, continuing to develop and consistently playing to her strengths. We're excited to welcome her back and look forward to what lies ahead,” Victoire general manager Danièle Sauvageau shared.
Charge sign Élizabeth Giguère from Sirens
Forward Élizabeth Giguère joins the Ottawa Charge on a one-year deal after playing two seasons with the New York Sirens the team announced Thursday.
The NCAA National Champion brings a hard shot and five years of top college experience to the Charge. Giguère is the first new addition the Charge have made in free agency.
“Élizabeth Giguère accomplished a lot during her five-year NCAA career and we are extremely excited about her offensive upside. She’s a former NCAA Player of the Year,” Charge general manager Mike Hirshfeld said. “She’s also played on a line with Gabbie Hughes at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. She’s offensively gifted and she will get the opportunity to showcase that in Ottawa.”
Victoire re-sign Sandra Abstreiter to a one-year deal
Goalie Sandra Abstreiter has signed a new one-year contract with the Montreal Victoire, the team announced Thursday.
The 26-year-old goaltender played back up for the Victoire last season, but has had plenty of success on the world stage in recent months, including playing net for the German national team as they qualified for the 2026 Olympics in February.

Report: Lauren Bernard has re-signed with Sirens
Defender Lauren Bernard will return to the Sirens for another season per Ian Kennedy of The Hockey News.
Bernard, 23, spent the start of the 2024-25 season on the Toronto Sceptres' reserve list, before being signed by the Sirens on March 10. Once in New York, she appeared in 15 games and contributed two assists.
Kondas scores one-year extension with Sceptres
Jessica Kondas will remain in Toronto for another year, the team has confirmed.
Kondas, 25, is a depth defender who only appeared in one game and the Sceptres, and boasts a unique statistical anomaly of 100 per cent shooting as she only took and scored one shot last season.
Fleet sign Aurard, Schepers
The Boston Fleet announced the signings of forwards Chloé Aurard and Liz Schepers.
Aurard, who spent the past two seasons with the New York Sirens, signed a one-year contract for the 2025–26 season. Schepers, joining the Fleet after a two-year stint with the Minnesota Frost, signed a two-year deal through the 2026–27 season.
Aurard, 26, appeared in 27 games for the Sirens last season, recording two goals and two assists.
Schepers, also 26, tallied two goals and four assists in 27 regular season games in 2024–25, then added two goals and one assist over eight playoff appearances.
Charge re-sign forwards Leslie, House
The Ottawa Charge made their first two signings of the off-season, inking Rebecca Leslie and Taylor House to new contracts.
Leslie, an Ottawa native, signed a two-year deal through the 2026–27 season, while House agreed to a one-year contract for 2025–26.
Leslie, 29, recorded one goal and two assists in 27 games during the 2024–25 regular season, then tied for fourth in team playoff scoring with two goals and one assist in eight games.
House, 26, appeared in 15 regular season games for the Charge last season, tallying one goal and one assist. She also played in five of the team’s eight playoff games.
PWHL Seattle signs forward Natalie Snodgrass
The Ottawa Charge have lost forward Natalie Snodgrass to PWHL Seattle.
The expansion team has signed Snodgrass to a one-year deal.
The 26-year-old Minnesota native had one goal and five assists in 23 games last season.
Snodgrass had one goal and one assist in her first season with Ottawa. She played her college hockey at UConn.
Sceptres re-sign forward Maggie Connors
The Toronto Sceptres are bringing back Maggie Connors.
The forward from St. John's, N.L. has signed a one-year extension with the Sceptres, the team announced.
Connors, 24, had two goals in 30 games last season.
The Sceptres picked the Princeton product 62nd overall in the inaugural PWHL Draft in 2023.

Fleet re-sign Saulnier and Schafzahl to one-year deals.
Jill Saulnier and Theresa Schafzahl will remain in Boston for another year per Hailey Salvian of The Athletic.
Schafzahl, 25, was a depth forward in Boston last season contributing three goals and two assists over 30 games.
Forward Saulnier, 33, was acquired from the Sirens mid-way through last season and added two goals and three assists with the Fleet.
Seattle signs forward Lexie Adzija
After a couple of seasons in Boston, Lexie Adzija is heading to the Pacific Northwest.
The forward signed a two-year deal with PWHL Seattle on Tuesday, the team announced.
Adzija, a 24-year-old native of St. Thomas, Ont., started her PWHL career in Ottawa before she was traded to Boston in the league's inaugural season.
Over 36 regular-season games with Boston, she recorded three goals and six assists. She added one goal in eight playoff games.
Frost re-sign goaltender Maddie Rooney
Maddie Rooney is sticking with the two-time PWHL champions.
The Minnesota Frost re-signed the 27-year-old goaltender to a three-year contract on Tuesday, the team announced Tuesday.
In 29 regular-season appearances with the Frost over two seasons, Rooney has 13 wins, four shutouts, a 2.08 goals-against average and a .939 save percentage. She also recorded eight wins and two shutouts in 10 playoff games.
Ronney's contract runs through the 2027-28 season.
Victoire sign forward Hayley Scamurra
The Montreal Victoire landed another free agent.
Hayley Scamurra signed a two-year standard player agreement on Tuesday, the team announced.
Scamurra joins Victoire as a two-year PWHL veteran, spending time with the Ottawa Charge and Toronto Sceptres. In 49 career PWHL games, the Buffalo, N.Y. native has scored six goals and registered 13 points.
Internationally, Scamurra represented the United States at the 2025 IIHR Women's World Championship in April, helping her team to a gold medal.
Vancouver signs defenders Channell-Watkins, Greco
PWHL Vancouver bolstered its blue line on Tuesday by signing defenders Mellissa Channell-Watkins and Emma Greco to standard player agreements, the team announced.
Channell-Watkins, 30, signed a one-year contract, while Greco, 30, inked a two-year deal.
Channell-Watkins comes to Vancouver after winning back-to-back Walter Cups with the Minnesota Frost. In 53 career regular-season games with the Frost, she had one goal and eight assists.
Greco played her first season with the champion Frost before joining the Boston Fleet last season. She had three assists with the Fleet last season and finished fifth on the team with 53 hits.
Spooner, Compher re-sign with Toronto
Natalie Spooner and Jesse Compher re-signed with the Sceptres on two-year contracts, the team announced.
Spooner, 34, recorded three goals and two assists in 14 games for the Sceptres last season after returning from a knee injury she suffered during the 2024 playoffs.
She won the Billie Jean King MVP Award during the PWHL's inaugural 2024 season after scoring 20 goals while adding seven assists in 24 games.
Compher, 25, was stellar in 2025, posting nine goals and 18 points across 30 games. After getting drafted in the fifth round of the inaugural draft by Toronto, she had a slow start in her first season, but has picked up her play and proven her ability to dominate from the wing with a quick shot.
Fleet re-sign Tapani
Susanna Tapani is staying in Boston.
The Finnish forward has signed a one-year deal to remain with the Fleet, the team announced Tuesday.
Tapani, 32, was third in team scoring last season, finishing with 18 points (11 goals, seven assists) in 30 games.
The Fleet acquired Tapani from Minnesota in February 2024.
Centre Michela Cava signs with PWHL Vancouver
One of the Minnesota Frost's top scorers is heading to Vancouver.
The PWHL expansion team has signed Michela Cava to a two-year deal.
Cava was fourth on the PWHL-champion Frost this season with 19 points (nine goals, 10 assists).
The 31-year-old native of Thunder Bay, Ont., was a 12th-round pick of Minnesota in the inaugural 2023 draft and then helped the team win two titles.
Forward Claire Dalton signs with Sceptres
It's a homecoming for Claire Dalton.
The Toronto native has signed a one-year deal with the Toronto Sceptres, the team announced Tuesday.
Dalton had nine points in each of the past two seasons with the Montreal Victoire.
Dalton, 25, was captain of Yale University in her final NCAA season.
Goalie Elaine Chuli signs with Sceptres
The Toronto Sceptres have a new goaltender.
Elaine Chuli has signed a one-year deal with the Sceptres, the team announced Tuesday.
The native of Waterford, Ont., was 4-6-0-1 with a 2.42 goals-against average and .910 save percentage with the Montreal Victoire last season.
Chuli, 31, was 6-1-0-1 with a 1.61 GAA and .949 save percentage in 2023-24 with Montreal.
Prior to the formation of the PWHL, Chuli helped the Toronto Six win the Isobel Cup in 2022-23.
“I couldn’t be more excited to be coming home to Toronto and joining the Sceptres for next season. It means a lot to me to be back close to home and have the chance to play in front of such a passionate fan base,” Chuli said.
Shiann Darkangelo signs with Victoire
The Montreal Victoire have added some scoring punch after signing forward Shiann Darkangelo to a two-year deal, the team announced.
Darkangelo, 31, had eight goals and nine assists in 29 games with the Ottawa Charge last season.
That was a big step up from 2023-24 when she had one assist in 24 combined games with Boston and Ottawa.
Ottawa acquired Darkangelo in a trade in March 2024.
"A proven leader on and off the ice, Shiann brings the championship experience every team needs. A reliable two-way centre, she excels in all three zones and contributes in every special team situation, making her a versatile player," Victoire general manager Danièle Sauvageau said in a statement.
Taylor Girard re-signs with New York Sirens
Forward Taylor Girard is staying with the team that acquired her last season.
New York announced that it re-signed Girard to a one-year contract on Wednesday.
The Sirens shipped Jill Saulnier to the Boston Charge in January to land Girard.
After going scoreless in five games with Boston, the 26-year-old Michigan native had one goal and two assists in 18 games with the Sirens.
The deal was first reported by Ian Kennedy of The Hockey News on Tuesday.
Report: Jincy Roese leaves Ottawa to sign with New York Sirens
The New York Sirens have added some offence to their blue line with a move on the second day of free agency.
Defender Jincy Roese has reached an agreement with New York, per Ian Kennedy of The Hockey News.
Roese had three goals and 11 assists in 27 games last season with the Ottawa Charge.
The 28-year-old played for silver-medal-winning Team USA at the 2022 Olympics. Roese played NCAA hockey at Ohio State.
Mariah Keopple signs with PWHL Seattle
Mariah Keopple is returning to her home country.
After two seasons with the Montreal Victoire, the Wisconsin native has agreed to a one-year deal with PWHL Seattle.
Keopple, 24, led the league with 54 blocked shots last season. She added three goals and one assist in 29 games.
The Princeton product cracked the Montreal roster as an undrafted free agent in 2023-24.

Report: Fleet sign MacKinnon, Boyd
Zoe Boyd reportedly leaves the Charge and Rylind MacKinnon says goodbye to the Sceptres as both defenders agree to a new home in Boston, per Ian Kennedy of The Hockey News.
Boyd, 23, had three assists over 23 games in Ottawa this season, while MacKinnon, also a depth piece in Toronto, contributed two assists in 22 games.
Victoire bolster blueline with Jessica DiGirolamo
Defender Jessica DiGirolamo is leaving the Fleet for Montreal on a two-year deal, the Victoire announced Thursday.
The Mississauga, Ont. native was one of the youngest blue liners available in free agency and with the fourth most hits in the league last year at 41, she brings a physical presence to a Victoire squad in great need after the expansion process.
Kati Tabin re-signs with Victoire
Defender Kati Tabin has re-signed with the Victoire on a two-year contract.
Tabin has played for the Victoire the past two seasons, where she's recorded five goals and nine assists in 52 games with the club, adding 26 hits. The 28-year-old was selected 30th overall in the inaugural PWHL draft in 2023.
Natalie Buchbinder re-signs with Frost
Defender Natalie Buchbinder has re-signed with the Frost on a two-year deal.
The 26-year-old is a critical piece for the reigning champions, who just lost two of their top defenders, Sophie Jaques and Claire Thompson, in the expansion draft. Buchbinder has three NCAA championships and two Walter Cups to her name.
Kali Flanagan re-signs with Sceptres
Defender Kali Flanagan has re-signed with the Toronto Sceptres, the team has confirmed.
Flanagan had seven points in 30 regular-season games, and then added another three for the Sceptres during the playoffs. The 29-year-old right-shot was selected in the sixth round of the 2023 draft and has played both years in the league with Toronto.
Tereza Vanisova leaves Charge for PWHL Vancouver
Tereza Vanisova will not return to Ottawa and instead has signed a two-year deal with PWHL Vancouver.
After an expansion process that saw teams lose many top-end forwards, Vanisova and her offensive ability are in high demand. The 29-year-old Czech forward led the Charge with 22 points and was second in the league, after Marie-Philip Poulin, with 15 goals. This is the second straight off-season in which the Charge have lost their top scorer.
Hannah Miller leaves the Sceptres to play in Vancouver
Forward Hannah Miller is heading west and signing with her hometown team PWHL Vancouver on a three-year deal, the team announced.
After finishing top-10 in the league in scoring with 10 goals, Miller is a huge loss for the Sceptres, who are already reeling, having lost three forwards in Izzy Daniel, Julia Gosling and Sarah Nurse through expansion.
Miller tied for fourth in the league in points with 24 last season. She was a clutch performer in big moments for the Sceptres, including at the Battle on Bay Street game against the New York Sirens, where she scored twice. She added a goal in the Sceptres’ final playoff game against the Frost.
