PWHL Ottawa re-signed defender Zoe Boyd to a one-year contract on Monday.
Boyd registered three assists in 16 games during the league's inaugural season. Her year was cut short, however, after sustaining fractured left wrist on March 20 during a game against New York.
“Zoe is a great player who fits our culture," PWHL Ottawa general manager Mike Hirshfeld said in a release. "Above all, she’s a young player who will continue to grow. She had already made a lot of progress before she was injured last season. I’m really looking forward to seeing how she develops next season."
The 23-year-old from Caledon East, Ont., was drafted in the ninth round, 53rd overall, by Ottawa last September following five seasons with Quinnipiac University.
All teams have an exclusive window until free agency begins on June 21 to offer extensions to players currently under contract.
