It's time for a first look at the PWHL's newest expansion teams.
The league revealed the inaugural season jerseys for PWHL Hamilton, Detroit, San Jose and Las Vegas on Thursday.
Each jersey features the team's colours and a diagonal city name in block letters across the front.
The teams will wear this more generic logo-less sweater in their first year before the officially branded jerseys are revealed in their second season. This same format was followed during last year's expansion to Vancouver and Seattle.
Even though they won't be featured on the 2026-27 kits, the expansion team names and logos will still be announced before the start of this season on Dec 5.
PWHL Hamilton's inaugural season jersey is gold with accents of deep red, burnt orange and cream throughout the design. The colour palette was chosen to highlight the city's steel industry and sports history. The deep red and burnt orange are reminiscent of rusted steel and the gold primary colour on the home jerseys is an homage to the colours worn by the CFL's Tiger-Cats and the former Hamilton Bulldogs of the OHL.
PWHL Detroit's inaugural home uniform is black with silver accent colours that signal to the automotive history of the city. It features three stripes at the bottom in white, silver and red that mimic Detroit's 313 area code.
PWHL Las Vegas jerseys feature a green, gold and navy colour scheme. These colours were chosen to reflect the natural scenery of Southern Nevada. Only 'Vegas' is stitched across the front. The gold accents throughout the green home uniform were inspired by the sparkle of the desert sun.
Lastly, PWHL San Jose has a mandarin orange coloured home jersey with additions of sky blue throughout. These bright colours were chosen to mimic the Bay Area's imagination and to reflect California's beauty.
