For the second straight season, the Toronto Sceptres will compete in the Walter Cup playoffs.
The Sceptres didn't need to play in order to clinch a playoff spot after the New York Sirens' victory over the Minnesota Frost on Sunday.
Toronto were unable to secure a spot on Saturday following a 3-0 shutout loss to the Boston Fleet and needed a point or a Minnesota loss to clinch.
Last season, the Sceptres finished first in the PWHL, earning the regular season championship, but lost in the semifinal to Minnesota after losing a 2-0 series lead.
