Marie-Philip Poulin could be headed back to the shelf.
The Montreal Victoire captain left her team's game against the Boston Fleet on Sunday after appearing to aggravate the leg injury she sustained at the Olympics.
Montreal later confirmed she would not return.
Poulin first suffered the ailment in a preliminary game against Czechia after a hard hit from PWHL rookie Kristyna Kaltounkova and missed two games of the tournament before returning for the medal round.
Upon the PWHL's post-Olympic return, Poulin missed one game before rejoining the Victoire.
The 34-year-old from Beauceville, Que., has 17 points (nine goals, eight assists) in 18 games with the Victoire on the season, including the opening goal against the Fleet.
Montreal returns to action Thursday when it hosts the Seattle Torrent.
