Compiled By Erik Tomas, The Raceline Radio Network.   Week Of:  December 13th 2020

“Use your HEAD…..to stop the SPREAD!”

Formula One World Driving Championship:

Last Race: SEASON CLOSER:  December 13th: Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi: Max Verstappen and Red Bull the fastest pretty much all weekend, leading every lap from the pole for his 2nd win of the season, 10th of his career. A 13 second gap over Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton. Abu Dhabi was a dull, processional affair, the top 3 never changing position the entire 55 lap distance.

The Mercedes off pace. They essentially had to drop engine power slightly with old motors, rather than change to fresh bullets and start at the back.

Canadians: Montreal’s Lance Stroll finished 10th, not enough to get Racing Point 3rd in Constructor’s points, settling for 4th. Stroll himself 11th in the final driver’s tally. Toronto’s Nick Latifi finished the final GP of the season 17th, 21st in final points.

So ends the Covid-19 ravaged F-1 season. Just 17 races the shortest schedule since 1966. All in all, the F-1 community did very well heath wise during C-19. Just one in a thousand testing positive- no fatalities!
