Formula One World Driving Championship: 

Last Race: Sunday June 27th: The Styrian Grand Prix, Red Bull Ring, Spielberg Austria: Red Bull’s Max Verstappen took off from the pole leaving Lewis Hamilton behind easily and that was pretty much race-done! Verstappen’s 4th win of the season. Hamilton, on blistering tires never got close enough to attack. He settles for 2nd, Valtteri Bottas 3rd so at least Mercedes got Constructors help with 2 cars on the podium. 4th race in a row Hamilton’s gone winless, something nobody expected when the season began. Canadians: Lance Stroll 8th and in the points again, Nick Latifi-damaged off the start, a flat: 17th.

F-1 Points into the 2nd run at the Red Bull Ring, The Austrian Grand Prix July 4th: Verstappen leads Hamilton by 18 in Drivers. Red Bull on top of Mercedes in Constructors by 40.

NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series: 

Last Races: Saturday, June 26th and Sunday June 27th, Double-Header: Pocono PA. Race # 1: Kyle Larson got by team mate Alex Bowman with 4 laps to go, his 4th win in a row in sight. But in the last corner on the last lap, Kyle’s right front tire goes down, he’s into the wall and Bowman re-takes the lead and the win, his 3rd of the season!

Race # 2: Kyle Busch wins his second of the season despite his gearbox being stuck in 5th gear for most of the race.

Just 7 races to do before the NASCAR Cup Playoff begins!

Next Race: Sunday July 4th: Road America, Elkhart Lake Wisconsin.

Next Race:  Sunday July 4th: Mid-Ohio Road Course, Lexington Ohio.

Last Race: Sunday June 20th: Road America, Elkhart Lake Wisconsin: 6th race in a row the dominator didn’t win! For the 2nd race in a row Penske’s Josef Newgarden got overhauled so close to the finish. Josef lost drive off a re-start with 2 laps to go and Spain’s Alex Palou was there to pounce for his 2nd win of the season.  James Hinchcliffe 15th. Dalton Kellett a DNF.

Points into Mid-Ohio: Palou by 28 on O’Ward, 9th at RA. 7 races to go for the season.

Sports Cars:  IMSA: 

Last Race: Sunday June 27th: Watkins Glen NY: 6 hour mini-marathon: Overall and DPi win: Harry Tincknell in the Mazda. LMP-3: Felipe Fraga in the Ligier. GTD win: Bill Auberlin in his BMW. Canada’s Danny Morad 5th in GTD.

Next Race: July 1st and 2nd: Watkins Glen NY. ( Again! )

Note:  July event at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park has been cancelled again due to the Pandemic.

Next Rally: The Rocky Mountain Rally, Cochrane Alberta October 9th.  That’s right before the Pacific Forest Rally in Merritt BC October 30th.

World Rally Championship:

Last Rally: June 27th: Nairobi, Kenya, Africa: defending champ Sebastien Ogier fell 2 and a half minutes behind with suspension issues on day-one but fought back for the win, 21 seconds ahead of Japan’s Takamoto Katsuda

Next Rally: July 18th Rally Estonia at Tartu.
