Raceline Radio Weekend Wrap-Up, and Show Guest Schedule.

Compiled By Erik Tomas, The Raceline Radio Network.   Week Of:  September 26th 2021

Formula One World Driving Championship:

Last Race: Sunday September 26th: The Russian Grand Prix, Sochi:  The weather decided this one! Lando Norris, from the pole was on his way to his maiden F-1 win for McLaren, but with 4 laps to go, the rain moved in from the Black Sea. Lewis Hamilton, chasing down Norris pitted for rain tires, Lando tried to stay out on slicks, but he slid off with 2 laps to go, handing Hamilton his 100th career win, the first ever to make 100. With Max Verstappen finishing 2nd after starting tail with an engine change, Lewis re-takes the driver points lead. Canadians: Lance Stroll wound up 11th in Russia after late contact in the rain with Pierre Gasly. Penalized 11 seconds and 2 penalty points.  Nick Latifi did not finish.

Points: Lewis re-takes the driver points lead, but by only 2. Mercedes leads Red Bull by 33 in Constructors

NTT IndyCar Series:  Season Concluded.

Last Race:  Sunday September 26th: Long Beach CA. Final race of the 2021 season: with a 35 point lead on Pato O’Ward into the finale, all Alex Palou needed to do was finish 12th or better at Long Beach to bank his first championship. DONE for Chip Ganassi Racing, arriving 4th! Championship 14 for Ganassi. Made easier when O’Ward’s drive shaft broke on lap 18, run into by Ed Jones on lap one. A DNF! Champ Palou, from Spain is only 24.  O’ Ward, from Mexico, a mere 22 years young!

The Canadians: James Hinchcliffe with a miserable season, 15th at The Beach. Dalton Kellett 19th.
