2022 is our 30th Anniversary Season!
NTT IndyCar Series:
Last Race: Sunday August 7th: Streets of Nashville TN: after a 2 hour delay for thunder and lightning to cease: a caution plagued mess on a very narrow track with Scott Dixon coming through for his 2nd win of the season to go with Toronto for Chip Ganassi Racing. Pole sitter Scott McLaughlin finished 2nd, defending champion Alex Palou 3rd.
The Canadians: Not a good time in music city for The Canadians. Both did not finish involved in contact. Devlin DeFrancesco scored 22nd, Dalton Kellett 25th. Just 3 races to do on the IndyCar schedule.
Points into St. Louis: Will Power by 7 over Scott Dixon.
Next Race: Saturday August 20th: World Wide Technology Raceway ( Oval ). St. Louis MO. Just 3 races remain on the 2022 schedule.
NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series:
Last Race: Sunday August 7th: The Michigan International Speedway Brooklyn MI. Bad weather delayed the start of this one too! For Stewart-Haas veteran Kevin Harvick it was well worth the wait! His first win this season and his first win in 65 starts going back to September 2 years ago! Harvick’s 59th career win, now 10th all-time and a badly needed “W” for Ford on the manufacturer’s side. That’s now 15 different winners in cup this season! Bubba Wallace 2nd at Michigan, Denny Hamlin 3rd.
Cup Points into Richmond: TBD
Next Race: Sunday August 14th: Richmond VA.
Formula One World Driving Championship: Idle!
Next Race: Sunday August 28th: The Belgian Grand Prix Spa Franchorchamps.
Last Race: Sunday July 31st: The Hungarian Grand Prix, Budapest: Max Verstappen scores the improbable win, his second in a row as Ferrari threw away another W/LeClerc with more dumb strategy! Max’s 8th win of the season, 28th career. Lewis Hamilton 2nd, Merc-mate and pole sitter George Russell 3rd, a double podium for Mercedes in rapidly improving race cars!
Canadians in Hungary: Lance Stroll 11th-no points. Nick Latifi 18th.
F-1 Points into the summer break: Max Verstappen’s lead over Charles LeClerc is now 80. Red Bull’s Constructors lead on Ferrari is 97 with Merc only 30 back of Ferrari! F-1 now has close to a month off. They don’t re-fire again until August 28th in Belgium! There are 10 GP’s left in the season!
IMSA Sports Cars:
Last Race: Sunday August 7th: Road America, Elkhart Lake Wisconsin: 1st over all/DPi: Felipe Albuqueque/Acura. LMP-2: Ryan Dalziel/Oreca. LMP-3: Felipe Frega/Ligier. Pro: Ben Barnicoat/Lexus with Jaminet & Campbell for Canada’s Pfaff Motorsports 2nd. GTD: Phillip Ellis/Mercedes.
