NTT IndyCar Series:

Last Race/Qualifying: 107th Indianapolis 500 Mile Race, The Indianapolis Motor Speedway:

Spain’s Alex Palou for Chip Ganassi Racing snatched pole position, topping out at 234.217 MPH for the 2021 series champion! Completing Row 1 are Rinus Veekay and Felix Rosenqvist. Canada’s Devlin DeFranceco starts 26th in the middle of row 9. Katherine Legge, the lone female in the field, ran the fastest lap ever by a female driver clocking in at 231.596 MPH. She starts the 500 outside of row 10. Fastest for Roger Penske goes to the 18-time winner Will Power who starts 12th. Fastest for Andretti goes to Kyle Kirkwood in 15th. In Tony Kanaan’s final drive after 25 years, he’ll start 9th, outside row 3. Graham Rahal misses the show.

IndyCar Points into The Indianapolis 500: Alex Palou has a 6 point over Pato O’Ward into the 107th Indianapolis 500.

NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series: 

Last Race: Sunday May 21st: All Star Open and All Star races, North Wilkesboro Speedway. Josh Berry and Kyle Larson claim victory.

Cup Points into The Coke 600:  Ross Chastian leads Christopher Bell by 27.

Next Race: Sunday May 28th:  The Coca Cola 600, Charlotte Motor Speedway, North Carolina.

Formula One World Driving Championship:

Sunday May 21st: Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, Imola Italy: CANCELLED due to flooding. The GP will not be re-scheduled.

Last Grand Prix: Sunday May 7th: The Grand Prix of Miami, Florida:  

Another Red Bull show for another 1-2 finish. Max Verstappen came from 9th to 2nd in only 16 laps to catch pole sitter team mate Sergio Perez. Max pitted late on lap 45 putting Checo in front, but with 10 to go Verstappen overhauled Perez to re-take the lead for his 3rd win of the season. Perez 2nd, Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso started on the front row and hung tough for 3rd. George Russell 4th for Mercedes, Carlos Sainz 5th for Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton 6th after starting this one well back in 13th. Canadian Lance Stroll started 18th but wound up 12th, out of the points after scoring in 3 of the first 5 GP’s.

F-1 Points into Monaco:  Verstappen leads Perez by 14 in Drivers, Red Bull leads Aston Martin by 93 in Constructors.

Next GP: Sunday May 28th: The Grand Prix of Monaco, Monte Carlo. Last year’s winner: Sergio Perez.

Canadian Rally Championship presented by Subaru:

Last Rally: Feb. 3rd-4th: Rallye Perce Neige in Maniwaki, Quebec:

Frigid minus 34 temperatures on snow covered stages with big plow banks on the shoulders!

Winners: First national win for Quebec’s Alex Moreau and Ian Guite in their Subaru WRX STi, by 2 minutes over Jean-Sebastien Besner and Yvan Joyal in their Mitsubishi Lancer. Matt Leblanc and Eric Dube in their Honda Civic holding off Chris Greenhouse and Ryan Scott in their Dodge Neon, taking two-wheel drive by just one-tenth of a second!
