NTT IndyCar Series:

Last Race: Sunday May 28th: 107th Indianapolis 500 Mile Race, The Indianapolis Motor Speedway:

The place was packed with close to 300 thousand in the pews! It was a good clean one, fast-paced until 3 red flags were waved over the last 15 laps for a variety of crashes and mishaps. The final restart with 2 laps left paved the way for Nashville, Tennessee’s Josef Newgarden! He swept by Marcus Ericsson approaching turn 3 of the final lap for his first 500 win, 19th for owner Roger Penske, in Joe’s 12th Indy 500 start. Marcus Ericsson, who didn’t think the race should have been restarted, finished 2nd, with Santino Ferrucci rounding out the podium for A.J. Foyt in 3rd. Canada’s Devlin DeFrancesco wound up 13th.

IndyCar Points into Detroit: Alex Palou leads Marcus Ericsson by 20.

Max clipped the wall twice but never surrendered the lead in the slipperiness! He extended his championship lead over Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez, who was twice lapped by Verstappen. Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso was never a threat to Verstappen. His 2nd place his best result of the season, his 5th podium in 6 races. Esteban Ocon 3rd for Alpine to complete the podium. Canada’s Lance Stroll with barrier contact in the dry and the wet: a DNF.
