Formula One World Driving Championship:
Last GP: Sunday October 8th: Grand Prix of Qatar, Losail: Red Bull’s Max Verstappen clinched his third-straight driver’s title with a 2nd place finish in the preliminary sprint race. This puts Verstappen in an exclusive club of drivers with 3 titles alongside Sir Jack Brabham, Sir Jackie Stewart, Niki Lauda and Nelson Piquet. In the Qatar GP itself: Verstappen just carried on to dominate the GP for another easy one, notching win #14 on the season. Second GP in a row that McLaren was able to secure a double-podium! Oscar Piastri 2nd, Lando Norris 3rd.
Canada’s Lance Stroll: finished Qatar 11th.
F-1 Points: Perez 30 up on Hamilton for 2nd. Red Bull has already nailed the 2023 Constructors title. Merc stands second in Constructors, 28 up on Ferrari!
Next GP: Sunday October 22nd: U.S Grand Prix, Circuit of The Americas, Austin Texas. Last Year’s winner: Max Verstappen.

NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series:
Last Race: Sunday October 8th: Charlotte NC on the Roval: Road racing specialist AJ Allmendinger comes through for his first win in a couple o’ years. William Byron 2nd, Kyle Busch 3rd. But that won’t help Rowdy!
Bottom 4 Eliminated: Busch, Chastain, Wallace & Keselowski all fail to make the cut. Busch is a former 2-time champ, while Keselowski captured the title back in 2012. Those advancing: Byron, Blaney, Hamlin, Bell, Buescher, Reddick, Larson and Truex Jr.
Next Race: Sunday October 15th Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Open race in Playoff Round of 8. Last year’s winner: Joey Logano.

NTT IndyCar Series: Season Closed!
Alex Palou wins his 2nd series championship. ( 2021 ). 15th IndyCar title for Chip Ganassi Racing.
Final IndyCar Points: Alex Palou 78 better than team mate Scott Dixon. Canada’s Devlin DeFrancesco: ranked 22nd.

World Rally Championship:
Next Rally: October 29th: Rally Germany-Bavaria.
Last Rally: October 1st: The Rally Chile: M-Sport’s Ott Tanak with a master class in speed and tire management to score his second win of the season. The 2019 world champion won 7 of the 16 tricky gravel stages to complete the rally with a 42.1-second margin over Hyundai’s Thierry Neuville. Kalle Rovenpara struggled with tires to finish well back. His championship lead over Elfyn Evans has been chopped to 31 points.
